Crochet in August {Janice Reyes Photography – Austin, TX}

There is no better time than when it is 100 degrees out to pull out the crochet hook and make some scarves. I made one with regular crochet, one with regular tunisian crochet, and one with tunisian in the round. I wish tunisian crochet was more popular. It makes such a cool stitch and it isn’t hard at all. If you cloth diaper and use wool for a soaker I don’t think there is anything better than tunisian crochet for bedtime soakers.

You need to forgive the cell phone pictures. I have not yet mastered a self portrait where the camera doesn’t get in the way of my neck and I didn’t feel like looking for my tripod and remote. I’m lazy.

Here is what I’ve been up to:

This is just a triangle with some fancy edging.

I used a large hook (N?) and just put a rubber band on the end and did traditional tunisian crochet. Once it was “infinity scarf” length I just stitched it together.

I did tunisian in the round with 4 different yarns. I made it a little to big so I just added the button to pin it up.
