Cake Smash {Messy Toddler}

I can’t believe I forgot about these pictures!

I’m not going to lie.  E was pretty miserable the first 5 months of his life.  He was near impossible to please and didn’t sleep much.  However, we made it to one year and now he is a super content toddler! I think he is just adorable and funny and basically perfect.

We had to do a cake smash.  It really wasn’t an option.  Grammy and G-Daddy were visiting so they got to enjoy the show.  I’m going to give everyone a tip – I strongly suggest some food coloring and cool whip.  I put the cool whip on the cake then threw it in the freezer until he was ready for it.  It does melt fast, but if you are aiming for mess it is the way to go!

I would say it was a success.

I would like to title this picture “toddler with first sugar rush”.

Playdate Fun {Austin Child Photography}

When you have 9 adorable kids, some scrap paper, and crayons you just know you are in for a fun playdate.  Thanks Michele for hosting! It was crazy, but the the final results are awesome!

I love capturing a child’s personality in a photograph.  These kids are almost too cute!

I love playdates and watching the kids interact.  I love watching my boys play together and maybe that is why I feel drawn to photographing groups of kids.  I just love capturing these “first friend” moments.  You can’t help but wonder what kind of experiences are these kids going to have together.  What if they are lifelong friends?

I know we all joke that we do playdate so our kids take awesome naps, but  I love getting the opportunity to show my kids how to be kind, caring, and thoughtful. (For the record, B took a 3 hour nap and E almost 2 hours and it was glorious.)

Interested in hosting a photography playdate?  Send me an email – I would love to hear from you!

“K” {Child Photography}

This kid is just awesome.  “K” is 14 months here and I just love the 10-18 month age bracket.  I love the way toddlers explore and interact.

He definitely has the coolest hair.

The red chair was his mama’s when she was little.

I took these pictures in May 2010.   I really want to use my blog to document my growth as a photographer.  Every time I take pictures I learn something new.  I know my pictures are “good”, but I really want to be an all-star someday. There is always so much to learn when it comes to photography – but that is what makes it so much fun.

Blue {Austin Child Photography}

I love my blue background set up.   I love bright colors. I love bright eyes and smiles.  Here are my boys… I love them most of all <3
