Cake Smash {Janice Reyes Photography – Austin, TX}

We have seriously had a crazy two weeks. We took our time getting the big bedroom projects done and I still need to find some more stuff for the walls before I can show it off. I promise an awesome blog post soon. If you see any cool DIY wall decor projects let me know! I keep going back and forth on what I want. I was trying to not get sucked into work while our bedroom was mess – I really couldn’t even get into my office. Once the bedroom was under control and I thought I could get ahead on work stuff -my house came down with a stomach bug. It was HORRIBLE.

I know you all came here to see this sweet boy so I’m going to stop talking about bedrooms and stomach bugs!

The first birthday is a huge milestone. You have had a whole year to know your child and how to adjust your life to their schedule. You just got to witness the exciting “firsts” of the first year. Just when you think your baby will never sleep and is only capable of crying – you get that first smile. Just when you feel like you have your baby sleep trained – he/she starts standing up in the crib. And the first time your baby calls you mama or dada you are just so excited they can talk – ha until they start the mama, mama, mommy, mommy, MOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYY, mom, mom, MOOOOOMMMMMMMM thing…

Clean up time :)

Cake Smash {Messy Toddler}

I can’t believe I forgot about these pictures!

I’m not going to lie.  E was pretty miserable the first 5 months of his life.  He was near impossible to please and didn’t sleep much.  However, we made it to one year and now he is a super content toddler! I think he is just adorable and funny and basically perfect.

We had to do a cake smash.  It really wasn’t an option.  Grammy and G-Daddy were visiting so they got to enjoy the show.  I’m going to give everyone a tip – I strongly suggest some food coloring and cool whip.  I put the cool whip on the cake then threw it in the freezer until he was ready for it.  It does melt fast, but if you are aiming for mess it is the way to go!

I would say it was a success.

I would like to title this picture “toddler with first sugar rush”.
