The Fetterman’s {Janice Reyes Photography – Austin, TX}

I am visiting NEPA and busy getting in as much work as possible. I can’t wait to share everything from this trip, but first up is Sarah and Wayne’s wedding!

My mom and aunt are sisters. Sarah is my aunt’s niece on my aunt’s husband’s side of the family. Got that?

It was a HOT day in PA. I don’t throw the word “hot” around too much after last summer in Austin, but it was hot. We also beat the rain by 30 seconds. Despite tricky weather the day was perfect and full of love. I hope you guys are all settled into your new apartment in Boston and enjoying the beginning of your happily ever after.

I don’t get the opportunity to photograph couples too often because I am not really a wedding photographer (I second shoot and am considering doing a limited number of weddings a year). When my roommate, Micah, asked Ali to marry him I was super excited they asked me to do their engagement session. Have I mentioned we got a new roommate? My brother moved out so we had space. I know most people think we are crazy people for taking in another adult after my brother lived with us for 18 months. We aren’t crazy – we just like having a live-in babysitter around. I’m not joking. Also, Brandon and Micah are in a bromance. Last night, while I was editing photos from a foster care event they were downstairs watching part 3 of a 17 hour seminar on evolution. I wish I was joking.

Micah and Ali, I hope you enjoy this wedding planning season. Your friends and family are so incredibly excited for your journey in marriage together. Brandon and myself are grateful for your friendships and feel blessed to have you around :)

I leave you with these:

-She was the apple of his eye and he liked to sit down be cider.

-The bride’s best friend is so proud, she’s practically made of honor.

-A husband who thinks he is as solid as a rock may have a wife who wishes he was a little bolder.

-When he proposed to her, she found it very engaging.

Maryland Wedding {Janice Reyes Photography – Austin, TX}

I had the opportunity to second shoot a Dani Leigh Photography wedding a couple of weeks ago. Second shooting is an interesting experience. It is a time to learn, not get in the way, get the photographer what they need, and to challenge your creativity. Honestly, I don’t know how people just decide to be a wedding photographer without having been a second shooter. If you are looking for a wedding photographer find someone who has been running a business with awesome reviews for at least 3 years OR find someone who second shot with a reputable photographer.

I got the thumbs up to share some of the photos I took. And just to give her credit, Dani was totally in charge with posing people and telling me where I should be standing and when. Go see her pictures here.

I hope these pictures tell the story of the beautiful day! Ellie and Dan, thanks for not thinking Dani was crazy when she told you I would be the second shooter!
