Head Shots {Austin Photographer}

I took some head shots of my neighbor for her to use on her website.  She was one of the first persons I met here in Austin and one of my favorites.  You are beautiful inside out! I admire your love for God, your husband, your son and the little bean you are growing, everyone you know, and complete strangers.

PTPA {Austin Photographer}

While I was home in PA I did a small fundraiser for my community theater.  I was a member of PTPA while in high school. It is a wonderful community organization that celebrates the arts, but teaches young and old so much more! PTPA is a positive atmosphere where members can grow in their talent, confidence, and friendships. I hope PTPA is around years to come and that the community will continue to support the organization.

I really don’t know where to even begin about the life lessons I learned at PTPA, but confidence and speaking in front of others is a good start. The first show I did was Camelot and had one line. I always got nervous and usually forgot it… embarrassing yes, but embarrassing moments is what being a teenager is all about. I eventually grew more confident and less nervous and stopped forgetting lines or that I was suppose to be doing something while I was on stage. I will say that the confidence I learned to have in myself helps me to this very day. I will always pass the buck if someone else is willing to speak, but I always get compliments on my ability to speak in public. College and grad school are full of situations where you must speak in front of your peers. It is “okay” to do PTPA and not want to be a famous actor when you grow up. How about the fact that for the exception of one job I have always been hired? How do you think that has happened? Giving a presentation in college, interviewing for babysitting gigs, interviewing for internships, applying to grad school, interviewing at schools – I was nervous for it all, but my stage experience taught me to be confident and not let the nerves get to me.

ANYWAY…

I definitely had to be creative when it came to backgrounds, but it all worked out.

Here are some of my favorite head shots from the session!

If you belong to an organization that serves the youth of the community and you are looking for a fundraiser idea and I can somehow help – send me an email! I’ve been itching to do a Facebook Profile Picture Fundraiser.

Annnnnnd because I can’t help myself – you can “like” me on facebook. Just look below for the little facebook thing that links you to my page.
