Tree {Janice Reyes Photography – Austin, TX}

We had the tree by the train table in the living room with the high ceilings, but because I am my mother’s child I had hubby and brother move it to another room.

^^E put everything on 2 branches.  I’m pretty sure Brandon waited all of 20 seconds to fix them.

^^  Does anyone else put the topper on more than once so each kid can get a turn?

^^I asked them to let me take a picture of them in front of the tree.  Obviously,  that means tackle and wrestle.

We have since added quite a few ornaments.  My favorites are the salt dough woodland animals.  I have a neon orange squirrel hanging on my tree – we keep it classy around here.  Speaking of salt dough ornaments – you should probably ask my brother about the really hard cookies that I left sitting out on the counter….

“W” Family {Janice Reyes Photography – Austin, TX}

I’m still catching up on blogging all the awesome families I’ve photographed over the last few weeks!

I’m often asked what is my favorite age is to photograph. Honestly, I love every age and truly enjoy overcoming the challenges different ages bring to a session. I love that older kids just listen and follow directions. I REALLY love when I show them some pictures right from the camera and prove they don’t look as awkward as they feel. I love that toddlers are all around cute. I REALLY love when they decide I’m cool and give me their best smiles and laughs. I play this game with every session and until the cards are uploaded onto my computer I’m a bundles of nerves. Lately, I’ve been blessed with amazing families and I just smile when I’m going through the images in Lightroom.

This was probably one of the easiest and quickest mini-sessions ever. I was told that I need to REALLY market the mini-sessions. Older kids and fidgety fathers appreciate the quick 15-30 minutes of picture taking. Thanks guys for letting me take some updated family photos!

If you are interested in a mini-session please contact me!

Holiday Party {Janice Reyes Photography – Austin, TX}

Over the weekend my friend let me test out a holiday party at her house. Basically, you invite 3-7 families and have a party while taking turns getting your portraits taken. Contact me for details. I’m currently not charging a session fee and no obligation to buy. I’ll probably only do a couple of more parties with that deal – don’t wait to ask me about it!
